Simple Acts of Care & Kindness
Pass it on!

The International Conference on Care & Kindness was established at the Crystal Cathedral in 1998 with the mission to Equip, Motivate and Inspire good people to care more noticeably for their friends, neighbors, family and the “checker at the market.”

The S.A.C.K. Festival is an outgrowth of this God-inspired mission. It is our desire to encourage the members of our own congregation and others around the world to make Simple Acts of Care & Kindness part of their daily lives.

We fashioned our Festival during the Lenten season with the idea that we want to “give” instead of “give up” for Lent.

Care & Kindness

A S.A.C.K. Festival signals a strong intention to make the world a kinder and gentler place. No better way exists for good people to personally improve humanity: people from kindergarten to age 99 deliberately sprinkling kind deeds around them every day.

Why a S.A.C.K. Festival?

“Violence begets violence” they say. Likewise “kindness gives birth to kindness.”
We claim kindness works as an antidote to violence.
Scatter simple acts of care and kindness!
They grow and spread, crowding out meanness, crudeness and violence.

Why a Simple Acts Of Care and Kindness Festival?

To ignite a flame of care and kindness that will warm hearts and soothe frazzled nerves.

Why a Simple Acts Of Care and Kindness Festival?

To create a wave of care and kindness washing anger, frustration and loneliness
out of troubled hearts.

A Simple Act

Implanted in my memory is a Readers Digest story of a messy, run-down row of homes in a poverty stricken inner city. Then one woman crafted a window box and started flowers growing there on the front of her run-down house.

As if inspired, a neighbor turned over some soil and planted a couple rows of petunias. Soon the home owners across the street added a beauty spot in their tiny yard.

A couple of houses down a painting project spruced up a beleaguered domicile. A virus of beauty was spreading, started by one old lady's window box. Soon the street sparkled and danced with color and pride. People were talking, visiting, enjoying.

A simple act. A wave of renewal. Proof positive that goodness is infectious.

Why a Simple Acts Of Care and Kindness Festival?

To spread a positive, considerate, compassionate spirit around workplaces, neighborhoods,
campuses and shopping areas that will be caught, hung onto and
reproduced in an endless chain reaction of goodness flowing around the world.

Why a Simple Acts Of Care and Kindness Festival?

Jesus said, “when you do something kind and helpful to anyone else, you do it to me.”
