YOUR FIRST MEETING

1. The parent sponsor (or the host) greets and welcomes everyone to this first meeting of the club.

2. Each person receives a membership card. Neatly print your name on the front of the card. Then turn the card over and read the Pledge out loud together. After reading the Pledge, have everyone sign their pledge.

Now each person is a Member!

3. All members should bring their cards with them to all meetings. They should also have their cards with them when they are doing business for the S.A.C.K. Kid's Club.

4. The parent sponsor suggests that the officers of the club be elected and helps with the proper handling of the election.

5. When the group has decided who will be President, that person takes over for the rest of the meeting.

6. You should discuss what the mission of your club will be.

Your mission is the description of what you want to accomplish? Think about how your club can help spread acts of care and kindness. Don't decide on specific projects yet — you will do that at your next meeting.

Just set a general goal of the kinds of things your want your club to do and the way you want it to be helpful in your community. When you have decided what your new Club's mission will be, put that on the registration form.

7. Go over the registration form and make sure that it is completed. You can mail it to the S.A.C.K. Foundation at

or ...
you can fill out the form right here online!

8. Each member is given a “My Child Practices Simple Acts of Care and Kindness for a Better World Today” bumper sticker. Your parents will display it with pride!

9. Each member is given a set of “Pass It On Coins”. These may be used every time you observe people doing an act of kindness or if they do a “simple act of care and kindness” for you. Give them a coin and ask them to “pass it on” (They should pass on an act of kindness and they should pass on the coin to someone else they observe doing an act of kindness.)

10. Decide how often you want to meet and where your meetings will be held.

11. At the end of each meeting, each person takes a “Pass It On” card. There are two activities on each card. Before your next meeting, do what the card says and report back at the next meeting, what you did, how it was received and how you felt about it.

12. Decide who brings the snacks. (Be sure to take turns.)

13. The Secretary is reminded that it is his or her responsibility to send the registration form to the S.A.C.K. Foundation.
