“SPREADING THE WORD” IDEAS

1. Recruit new members:

• Announce the formation of a new club in your classroom.
• Ask the principal to announce that you have formed a new club and are inviting anyone who would like to join.
  
• Put up posters at school telling about your club and inviting kids to attend your next meeting

2. Fund Raising ideas:

• Car wash
  
• Lemonade stand
  
• Bake sale
  
• S.A.C.K.-a-thon
  
• Collect pledges from family and friends for each act of care and kindness you do.
  Special note on fund raising: You need to have a specific goal for the money you make. For example: you may want to buy flower bulbs to plant in your community, prizes for an art contest, etc. Always be sure to make it known why you are fund raising and what the money will be used for.

3. How to advertise your projects:

• Make posters to display at your school or in the community (with your parent sponsor's help)
  
• Flyers can be distributed where you get permission.
  
• Ask your parent sponsor to help by calling the newspapers, radio stations, etc. for advertising.
