Last week, my son's fifth grade class were auditioning for roles for the Thanksgiving play. Since my son is very involved in community theatre, he was given the "starring" role in the play. Michael heard that one of h is friends had really wanted the role, but hadn't said anything because heknew Michael would get it.

The next day, Michael approached his teacher and told her that he knew Nick really wanted the lead role in the play and he knew how much it would mean to Nick, that he wanted Nick to have the role — Michael would take a background role.

Nick was thrilled and it all worked out in the end. Since the play was going to be shown four times, the boys decided each to play the lead role in two shows. Michael was also able to help Nick learn his lines and taught him to project his voice and helped build up Nick's self-confidence. The show is next week and we are all looking forward to it!!
